A whole display, a drawn area or a single window. With your camera, your voice and the sound the Mac is making. It lands in your folder as a .mov the moment you stop.

In the box
Everything you actually reach for before a take, in one small window. No presets to learn, no menus buried three levels deep, and every change applies to the next recording immediately.
Three seconds by default, or none at all. Enough time to move the cursor somewhere sensible and drop your other windows.
Sixty frames for scrolling and motion, thirty when the file size matters more than the silk.
The default setting roughly halves what a recording weighs, with a compatibility option for anywhere that needs it.
A full 2560 × 1440 display at 60 fps
Keep the pointer in the recording or leave it out entirely. It is drawn in cleanly, at full sharpness.
A soft ring blooms at every click so nobody watching has to guess what you pressed.
A round camera in any corner, sized from 10 to 40 percent. Drag it mid-recording and it stays where you drop it.

Capture what you say and what the Mac plays, kept apart so the edit later is not a guessing game.
Every capture lands as a dated .mov in your own folder. Reveal in Finder is one click from the menu bar.
Four ways in
Drag out any rectangle. Hold ⌥ to draw from the centre, hold ⇧ to lock the aspect ratio, and the edges snap to window bounds so you never clip a shadow by two pixels.

Pricing
Every plan records the same way and exports the same .mov. Free stamps a small badge in the corner. Paying takes it off, and lifetime also buys everything we build from here.
$0forever, no card
The whole recorder, exporting real .mov files you can use anywhere. Every export carries a small ScreenIt badge in the corner.
No account, no card, no expiry. Paying only removes the badge.
$10per month
Clean exports with no badge, month to month. Stop whenever you like and every file you already made stays yours.
Billed monthly. Cancel from inside the app in two clicks.
$399once, and never again
Pay once, lose the badge for good, and get everything we build from here. The editor, the zoom, whatever comes after.
About forty months of the monthly plan. After that it keeps paying for itself.
Start on Free for as long as you like. No card, no account, and nothing to cancel if you never upgrade.
What comes next
The capture side is finished and stable, so that is what ships today. Everything below is already scoped, in order, with no dates invented to look busy.
Displays, areas, windows and camera. Countdown, frame rate, quality, cursor, click highlights, camera bubble, microphone and system audio.
Name templates with date, time, capture mode, display and a counter, so recordings sort themselves before they reach the folder.
A timeline that opens the moment a recording stops. Trim the ends, cut the dead middle, export again without leaving the app.
Automatic zoom that follows the cursor, smoothed pointer movement, and background padding for the shots that need to look composed.
Straight answers
Any Mac on macOS 13 Ventura or later, Apple silicon or Intel. On Apple silicon a 60 fps recording of a full display barely registers on the processor, so whatever you are demonstrating stays smooth.
No, and there is no plan for one. ScreenIt is built directly against the Mac, which is exactly why the capture is cheap and the files come out clean. A port would mean a different app.
Never. Recording, encoding and saving all happen locally. There is no account to make, no upload step and no tracking. The only thing the app ever asks the internet is whether a newer version exists.
Not yet. Trimming and cutting land in 1.1 and cursor zoom in 1.2, both included in every plan. Until then a finished capture opens straight into whatever editor you already use.
Ready when you are
One download, no account, no upload step. Open it, pick a frame, and the file is in your folder before you have switched windows.
